Santa Cruz Hinds House Weekly Rooms and Rates

Our Santa Cruz historic hotel is fully furnished with sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, clock/radio/CD player, desk, lamps, television, closet hangers, and extra towels. Just bring your suitcase and relax.

Six of our rooms are furnished with hand-made Englander natural latex beds, the most comfortable beds in the world. Rooms with Englander beds are noted below. The rest of our rooms feature Seally Posture-Pedic mattresses.

The photographs on this page are done in panorama style so you can see each room from side to side. Be aware that the third floor rooms are attic rooms with sloping ceilings. This panorama technique makes some of them appear larger than they are. Look at the square footage figures for each room to determine the size.

 

B & B Style Rooms on the Second Floor

Room 1 . 14x16' plus a 3 sided bay window. 250 square feet. Private Bath

$475/week October 1 - March 31 ::: $525/week April 1 - September 30

The only room in the house with a balcony. Views down Church Street to downtown Santa Cruz, queen sleigh bed, closet with built-in dresser drawers, Victorian writing desk under flash glass multicolored window, and private bath with claw foot tub. This second floor room gets morning light and faces southwest.

 

Room 2. 16x18' plus a 5 sided bay window. 336 square feet. Private Bath

$525/week October 1 - March 31 ::: $585/week April 1 - September 30

The largest room in the house features bay windows with views down Church Street to downtown Santa Cruz, a fireplace with 1880's art tiles, fainting couch, four post queen bed, built-in dresser drawers, and private bath with claw foot tub. This second floor room gets morning light and faces southeast. This room was originally built as the Hinds House upstairs parlor.

 

Room 3. 12x20''. 240 square feet. Private Sink

$425/week October 1 - March 31 ::: $475/week April 1 - September 30

This is a favorite room on the second floor of the house. It was Joseph and Sarah Hinds' original bedroom and features a private sink, bay windows, armoire closet, claw foot writing desk, coffee table, and a Victorian settee. Orientated to the west, this room has a beautiful antique carved full size bed with hand-made Englander natural latex mattress.

 

Room 4 . 11x13'. 153 square feet. Private Sink

$360/week October 1 - March 31 ::: $395/week April 1 - September 30

This is a cozy room on the second floor of the house. It features a walk in closet, built in cabinets, private sink, an orientation to the rear of the house, a north facing window, and antique brass full size bed with hand-made Englander latex mattress.

 

Room 5. 11x15'. 165 square feet. Private Sink

This is a beautiful room on the second floor of the house. This room features a walk in closet, built in cabinets, private sink, an orientation to the rear of the house, an east facing window, and carved antique full size bed with hand-made Englander natural latex mattress.

 

Rooms on the Third Floor

Room 6. 14x16' plus a square dormer. 224 square feet. Air Conditioned.

This attic room features a full size bed with hand-made Englander natural latex mattress, oversize closet and storage nook, writing desk, three lamps, an antique highboy dresser, air conditioning, and the only operable skylight in the house. The attic floor of the house has two common bathrooms, both with showers.

 

Room 8 . 13x19' plus a three sided dormer. 264 square feet.

$325/week October 1 - March 31 ::: $325/week April 1 - September 30

This attic room features a dormer alcove, a full size bed, writing desk, three lamps, a closet, an antique highboy dresser, and two skylights. The attic floor of the house has two common bathrooms, both with showers.

 

Room 9 . 13x20' plus a three sided roof bay. 260 square feet. Air Conditioned.

This attic room features a triple window bay, a full size bed with hand-made Englander natural latex mattress, a Victorian fainting couch, writing desk, three lamps, a closet, air conditioning, and two antique dressers. The room has three hopper windows low in the south side of the house under the eaves. The attic floor of the house has two common bathrooms, both with showers.

 

Room 10. 13x16'. 208 square feet. Air Conditioned.

$300/week October 1 - March 31 ::: $335/week April 1 - September 30

This attic room features one clear skylight with pull down translucent shades, a full size bed, an comfortable reading chair, writing desk, four lamps, a closet, air conditioning, and antique dresser. The room has one hopper window facing north, to the rear of the house. The attic floor of the house has two common bathrooms, both with showers.

 

Room 11. 11x15'. 165 square feet. Private Sink, Air Conditioned.

$325/week October 1 - March 31 ::: $360/week April 1 - September 30

This small attic room features a private sink and a small skylight with pull down translucent shades, a full size bed with hand-made Englander natural latex mattress, a writing desk with mirror, four lamps, antique dresser, air conditioning, and an armoire for hanging clothes. The room gets afternoon sun through a window in a west facing gable. The attic floor of the house has two common bathrooms, both with showers.
